چکیده
Abstract In this paper, we discuss the results of laboratory tests and field surveys using ground penetrating radar (GPR) method to detect qanats at main campus Shahid Bahonar University Kerman (SBUK), Iran. The purpose experiments was explore optimum frequency GPR for subsoil in study site. We performed a variety with 3 GHz antenna (simulated dielectric empty targets) hosted by sand volumetric water content (VWC) values range 1.5–8%. depth each target progressively increased until either approaching edges sandbox or modelling qanat which data could not anymore. scaling factors were calculated test estimate maximum detecting as function scaled frequency. showed that areas where is dominated sand, medium-frequency antennas can penetrate depths few tens meters, but penetration considerably decreases when soil moisture and/or clay medium increase. Based on simulations, are detectable normalized about 15–17 times wavelengths very dry sands VWC less than 5% while rapidly drops down 4 more humid 8%. also measured 50 MHz 250 frequencies northwestern part area. processed images position compatible previous remote sensing studies detected 13.5 m, little bit beyond limit predicted tests.

متن کاملPersian surveys and questionnaires for neurodevelopmental assessment in children
Introduction: Cohort studies are defined as studies that investigate the correlation between exposures and diseases. Meanwhile, studies that investigate the effect of different exposures on children are of high priority, especially those focused on neurodevelopment. This study aimed to introduce available surveys in Persian language suitable for cohort studies that could be used for assessing n...
متن کاملBuilding damage caused by tree roots: laboratory experiments of GPR and ERT surveys
The root growth of trees close to buildings can cause directly or indirectly structural damages and the necessity arises of diagnostic tools to follow their time-spatial behaviour. In this framework, sensing techniques as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) are of relevant interest since they allow in principle the detection and identification of roots in ...

The Quchan fault is located in Quchan - Shirvan area which is a part of Chenaran- Bojnourd plain in Kopeh-Dagh zone, NE Iran. The Quchan active fault with northwest – southeast trending is one of the most important strike-slip faults in the area which its activity led to the numerous historical and instrumental earthquakes. The Neo-tectonic activities of this fault are investigated by the drain...
